Everyone’s favorite races are back. The annual Canterbury Park Dog Races are a summer tradition you won’t want to miss. Watch a variety of dog breeds dash down the track in friendly competition, all racing for the chance to advance to the Best in Show Championship races held Labor Day Weekend on Sunday, September 6. Winners from each race day will move on to the finals for the opportunity to be crowned champion of their breed.

Dog races will take place between live horse races on the main track, giving fans plenty of exciting action throughout the afternoon.

Each Dog Day Sunday also features Pepsi Family Day, making it the perfect outing for the whole family. Enjoy face painting, pony rides, the arcade, and more family-friendly activities throughout the day. Face painting and pony rides are available for $5 each.

Bulldog Races | Sunday, May 24

Kick off Canterbury Park’s 2026 Dog Days in unforgettable fashion as these lovable Bulldogs take to the track. Watch the pups waddle, sprint, and steal the spotlight with races held between exciting live horse racing throughout the afternoon.

It’s the perfect way to start the Dog Days season, with plenty of family-friendly fun and entertainment happening all across Canterbury Park.

Basset Hound Races | Sunday, June 14

The floppiest race of them all is back. Watch the lovable Basset Hounds take over the track for one of the most entertaining races of the season at Canterbury Park. Don’t miss these long-eared racers as they waddle, sprint, and charm the crowd between live horse races. It’s the perfect reason to plan a fun day at Canterbury Park.

Wiener Dog Races | Sunday, July 4

Celebrate the Fourth of July with one of the most entertaining races of the season. Watch the adorable Wiener Dogs dash down the track in this fan-favorite event, bringing plenty of laughs and smiles along the way. Enjoy the festive atmosphere and catch the races between exciting live horse racing throughout the day.

New! Beagle Races | Sunday, August 2

A new breed is joining the action at Canterbury Park. For the first time ever, Beagles will take to the track in their own exciting race, bringing plenty of energy, personality, and friendly competition to the day. Known for their playful spirit and quick pace, these lovable pups are sure to win over the crowd as they race between live horse races in this brand-new fan favorite.

Corgi Races | Sunday, August 9

The wiggle butts are back at Canterbury Park. Watch these adorable Corgis dash down the track in one of the most entertaining races of the season. With plenty of personality and plenty of speed, the Corgi races deliver laughs and excitement between live horse races, making it a fan-favorite event you won’t want to miss.

Best in Show Race | Sunday, September 6

All breeds return to Canterbury Park for the ultimate dog day showdown. Watch champions from each breed compete for top honors before the excitement builds to the final All Breeds Race, where the fastest pups of the season face off for one title—Fastest Dog of 2026. It’s a high-energy finale you won’t want to miss.
