Taste of Canterbury

The new "Taste of Canterbury" event series, transports to you the taste of Tacos and Tequila, Bourbon and Whiskey Smokehouse, and Asian Bistro! This themed entertainment Experience will show what Canterbury's kitchen can bring to the table, with specialty food, cocktails, and pairings during an evening packed with themed fun and live racing action.

Taste of Canterbury will take place alongside live racing. Gates will open at 4PM one hour prior to the first post at 5:10PM. The event will run from 5PM - end of the race day (Approx. 9PM).

July 9 - Bourbon and Whiskey Smokehouse

Upgrade your racing experience with our special The new "Taste of Canterbury" event series, transporting you to the taste of Bourbon and Whiskey Smokehouse! This themed entertainment Experience will show what Canterbury's kitchen can bring to the table, with specialty food, cocktails, and pairings during an evening packed with themed fun and live racing action.
All ticket holders will receive two drink tickets for our selection of Bourbon and Whiskey based cocktails, as well as access to the appetizer pairings all evening! Entertainment will be provided in-between live racing. The perfect way to spend a race day with your group!
VIP ticket holders will receive additional perks, including a Table for four with an exceptional view of the race track as well as cocktail service at the table.

Entertainment of the evening will be provided by the Barley Jacks Duo (Brian Wicklund and Mike Cramer). One immediately notices watching Brian and Mike how darn good they are.Then you see how much fun they have together. These guys really play.

Brian is widely regarded as among the top bluegrass fiddle performers and teachers in the country.As bandleader of the Minnesota-based Barley Jacks, he also showcases his formidable talents as mandolinist and songwriter.His song craft has a quality of timelessness that draws from the roots music he has spent his life playing.

Mike Cramer started his performing career playing guitar on Mississippi paddle boats as a teenager.With a degree in jazz performance and numerous flatpack guitar championships under his belt, he is among the most versatile guitarists in the midwest.

Every show is different.Every song unique. Come and watch them play at Taste of Canterbury!

July 30 - Asian Bistro

SEPARATE TICKET FOR TASTE OF CANTERBURY REQUIRED. TASTE OF CANTERBURY TICKETS INCLUDE LIVE RACING ADMISSION.

Let Canterbury's kitchen bring you far east for our Asian Bistro themed night of the Taste of Canterbury Series. Sample some familiar umami flavors with a new twist! Everything from Kimchi Fried Rice, to Garlic Shrimp and Vegetable Egg Rolls or Korean Short Ribs!
Enhance your evening at the races with this well-rounded culinary experience, including drink samplings and pairings.

Entertainment of the evening will be provided by Thai Vu and her Vietnamese Traditional Music as well as contemporary and traditional Japanese tunes by Jun Sugiyama.

About Thai Vu:

She specializes in the performance of four instruments: đàn tranh zither, đàn bầu monochord, đàn tam thập lục dulcimer, and đàn tr’ưng bamboo xylophone . As a professional musician, she has performed widely in Vietnam, Singapore, Australia, Hawaii, Virginia, Texas, and Minnesota. Since 2018, Ms. Vũ has moved to Minnesota, USA, and founded the Vietnamese Traditional Music of Minnesota non-profit organization to promote the culture of Vietnam through art and music.

About Jun Sugiyama and Marina
Jun Sugiyama plays acoustic guitar instrumental songs of popular tunes from pop, jazz, rock, traditional folk music, and some classical tunes.His unique pseudo-classical playing style creates a nice background for a fun and relaxing socializing events.This Japanese native, who has been a resident of Minnesota for 24 years, has 40+ years of performing experience.Jun will bring a talented young guest singer, Marina Capri, for a part of the evening.Marina is from Edina and sings songs from various genres with her beautiful soprano voice. After she studied the performing art in New York City, Marina has been performing at various venues and events in the Twin Cities area since 2018.

General Admission - $50

A general admission ticket includes live racing admission + the Taste of Canterbury Experience with all the food, cocktails, and entertainment the event has to offer.

VIP Club Table - $20

Add a Club-Level table for 4 with exceptional views of the race track for an even more comfortable and relaxed Taste of Canterbury Event experience. This upgrade also includes cocktail service at the table.
