Thank you for your interest in entering your pup in the Dog Races at Canterbury Park!

Please Read Before Applying

Submitting an application indicates your interest in having your dog participate in the races at Canterbury Park. Dogs will be selected through a lottery system — not on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Please wait to apply until you have current vaccination records ready to upload. All applications must be submitted by the posted deadline. Selected participants will be notified prior to race day.

If you would like to enter more than one dog, you must complete a separate application for each dog. If chosen, all race-related communication will be sent to the first owner listed on the application.

Racing Requirements

Two adult owners (18+) must be present in order for a dog to race.
Children are not permitted on the track during the races.
No outside pets are allowed, other than your registered race participant.
Canterbury Park reserves the right to disqualify any dog whose breed or mix may provide an unfair racing advantage.

A pre-race interview is a scheduled 15-minute session held before race day, where you and your dog will be interviewed about your dog’s background, training, and personality. The session will also include capturing video footage of you and your dog together for race coverage.

Vaccinations

All vaccinations must be a digital or printed and authenticated version from a vetrinariy office.
Please note, vaccinations must not expire prior to dog race day of MM DD, YYYY.

Safety Information:

Two adult owners must be present in order to race.
Please make sure to cover all needs your Dog might have throughout the day. We will be providing water and poop bags, but make sure to cover any additional needs.
Your Dog MUST be leashed at all times.
There must be at least 1 owner with your Dog at all times.
We strongly suggest wearing closed toe shoes, no heels.
Please remember that the dog races will take place on the dirt track. Don’t wear shoes that you wouldn’t want to get muddy/dirty.
No Kids will be allowed on the Track during the Dog Races.
Note: Dogs are not allowed inside the main building of Canterbury Park.
All dogs need to steer clear of all horses on the grounds.
NO OUTSIDE PETS ARE ALLOWED, ONLY YOUR REGISTERD DOG

Schedule:

Gates open at 11:30, and check in and registration will begin at 11:30PM and will end at 1:30PM (Please make sure to be ON TIME)
Please give extra time on your travel for any traffic/construction occurring around Canterbury Park grounds
First Post for Sunday is scheduled at 1:10PM
There are 6 heats of dogs.
