Start your day sunny side up with our Breakfast on the Rail experience! Enjoy a homestyle breakfast track side in our Finish Line Cabanas while watching the horses train for race day. This one-of-a-kind experience also includes presentations from Chris Merz, Director of Racing Operations, Mark Irving, former Canterbury Jockey, and other special guests.

Food & Beverage

Continental Breakfast and complimentary beverages throughout breakfast include, Juice, Water, Soda, and other non-alcoholic drinks. Alcoholic drinks such as Bloody Mary's, Mimosas, and Screw Drivers will also be available during breakfast for purchase.

Kevin Gorg

Known for his work with Bally Sports on Wild, Twins and Timberwolves broadcasts, KG got his start at Canterbury Park and joins our broadcast team for race analysts and special features throughout the summer.

Chris Merz

Chris Merz serves as the Director of Racing at Canterbury Park. He oversees all aspects of live racing at the track such as supervising Canterbury’s racing secretary, managing racing operations, being the turf and grounds superintendent, and the stable area manager. Merz also serves on the American Graded Stakes Committee and the Breeders’ Cup World Champion and Field Selection Committee.

Mark Irving

Meet Mark Irving, former Jockey at Canterbury Park. He will provide tips on what to look for when betting on a horse, as well as some insider jockey knowledge.

Bernell Rhone - Horse Trainer

Bernell Rhone is a Minnesota Hall of Fame trainer that is recognized for his many accomplishments in being a Champion Trainer. Rhone won the Canterbury Park training title in 1996, and is the all-time winningest trainer in the history of the track.

Jockey Harry Hernandez

Harry Hernandez has been a jockey at Canterbury Park since February 2022. He began racing when he was young, growing up in Puerto Rico where he attended jockey school. Hernandez moved to the United States in 2015 where he started at Parx Racing in Philadelphia.
