Live Music and Entertainment

Devon Worley Band

Hitting at a time “when music genres are blurring – and maybe don’t even matter anymore” – the Devon Worley Band might show up on Spotify, or your favorite streaming platform, as country, rock, country-rock, or just rock, or retro rock. The truth is DWB is the most lovable bunch of mainstream music outliers that you ever heard! Led by 23-year-old Devon Worley, the group is set to release a tight, diverse and fresh new five-song EP called Tea Time for Thieves. It builds smartly on the band’s 2013 debut album Silver Creek (winner of two Independent Country Music Association Awards for Best New Band and Best Video) and the superb 2017 follow up, The Sunrise Resistance.

The Bavarian Musikmeisters

The Bavarian Musikmeisters are a 35-member wind instrument band from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota that have been sharing the beauty, enjoyment, and history of traditional Germanic band music and culture with people of all ages at festivals, park concerts, senior residences and private parties since 1985.

The Musikmeisters are modeled after the traditional village bands found in the German-speaking areas of Europe. Their attire, instrumentation, and musical arrangements of marches, polkas, waltzes, folk dances, and ballads are all authentic.

Two of their recordings are available for purchase, including the 2016 CD "Tanz Mit Mir (Dance With Me)", and their 2013 release "Live From Amana".

Prove your strength during our traditional Bavarian Masskrugstemmen (“beer-stein holding”) contest. Participants will be holding a one-liter stein of beer in one outstretched arm for as long as possible. A filled stein weighs roughly five pounds and must be kept parallel to the ground at all times. Any spilling leads to immediate disqualification! The person who holds theirs out for the longest time, wins.
Sign your team of two up for the Cornhole tournaments during Oktoberfest weekend, with enough boards for up to 16 teams! You can enjoy an ice cold beer while playing everyone's favorite party game.
Tournament time: 6:30PM
Show off your traditional attire during our Best German Dressed Contest! If you think you are the best dressed in the building - sign up! Participants outfits must fit the category of German dressed, however modern spins on traditional dress are welcome! The crowd as well as our MC will decide on the winner.
Show off your strength with this German Festival Classic! The High Striker will be available all weekend for everyone to prove their strongman abilities.
Can't get enough of the delicious German food? Sign up for our Brat eating contest! Participants will receive three brats in a bun each. The person who finishes all five brats first, wins! The Brat Eating Competition will take place during Friday and Sunday of our Oktoberfest.
